Metal channel is 27" long. Overall length is 28. By the measurements it looks like a 385 series. I just wanted to make sure that is what you think it is too. Thanks, Kevin

The sash weight range is not on the balance spring. How can I determine the sash weight range? Is the sash weight the weight of the sliding window itself or the force it takes to slide the window up/down? Do I need to 1/2 the weight of the sash weight to determine the correct weight ran ... I purchased this channel 27" 385 w/ option 2640 about 2 years back: discussions/dp93820207031899000-77-37806 The weight of the window is 19lbs (low end of option 2640 weight limit). Which balance do I need? The code stamped on the broken channel balance is "26 9 JV CMC 7." I measured the length and it's 27 inches for just the channel and 9/16" width. It seems like this is the correct one but I'm unsure of the weight.
