Sash weight range
The sash weight range is not on the balance spring. How can I determine the sash weight range? Is the sash weight the weight of the sliding window itself or the force it takes to slide the window up/down? Do I need to 1/2 the weight of the sash weight to determine the correct weight ran ... (cont.)

Is this the right channel size/weight?
I purchased this channel 27" 385 w/ option 2640 about 2 years back: discussions/dp93820207031899000-77-37806 The weight of the window is 19lbs (low end of option 2640 weight limit). Sliding Window channel Assembly

Balance Identification
Which balance do I need? The code stamped on the broken channel balance is "26 9 JV CMC 7." I measured the length and it's 27 inches for just the channel and 9/16" width. It seems like this is the correct one but I'm unsure of the weight.

I have Milgaurd Non-tilt windows and are replacing the window balances, the 27" balance ( 1//2" wide ) is stamped with the number ( 26 9 CR CALDWELL ) the exact model would be a " series 385 but unsure of the rating as the stamped number does not match any of your post numbers ?
