Lower tilt out vinyl sash weighs -23 lbs and is 36" tall so probably need 35" travel. Old balance assembly has 2 coil springs as shown in picture. Number on the carrier 590 Pat#5740165. I was also wondering to the replacements come with the springs or are they separate?

The part is a Force balance from a Milgard Tuscany 8225T double hung window. The spring has an number: 5232208 with the number 35 above it. Both balances seem to be broken.

On the coil I see stamped "MP" and "90". The windows are inexpensive modern vinyl double hung windows.

We like to know whether Series 161 Coil Balance (8 lbs) can replace the broken unit in the attached pictures. The broken coil unit is 1.25" in width and 0.55" in depth. The vinyl D.H. replacement window (36 inch by 40 inch) with tilt-in sash is manufactured by BFRich Co., which is out of business. ... (cont.)
