The locking handle seems to be wearing out. The latch and locking mechanism is OK, just the lever to lock the door is getting hard to unlock the door

The second and third picture show the latch in need to replace on my patio door, so it will latch properly and stay closed. There are no numbers or markings that I can see. I love my Simonton patio door, but I need it to lock properly. Can you help me?

The Patio Door is fairly new (Double Pane) and has a Vinyl Frame. All that I have is the Handle with a 3-7/8 Hole Pattern and the keeper plate that has a an overall length of 9-5/16 and width of 9/16. It has a double mortise hooks that are spaced 5" apart. 82-249 plate works for new mortise lock install. Need 1 inch projection to work with frame. Is there a equivalent 82-249 plate with 1 inch projection rather than the 1/2 inch? Picture shows installed plate with 1/2 inch projection with 1/2 inch wood block to get this to work. Thanks ... (cont.)

I bought the Swisco 82-265 lock and 82-249 keeper that goes with it. They installed well, but the hooks won't retract unless I hold in the safety button with my hand. What's wrong?
