appears a problem with crank- attached photos of it- can I replace with crank with screw as it seems it's not catching? If doesn't work is it returnable? Or do I need entire unit?

The locking mechanism him on the door that contacts the wall is slightly broken. There should be an extruding piece that gets pushed in when the door contacts the wall. This piece has broken off. Send out the lock won't close properly.
