Replacing Spiral Balances in 25-year-Old Windows
A few of the windows in my house have issues with opening/closing. For some, they are so difficult it's like a back-breaking workout, for at least one other the balances have just given up and dropped out. SPIRAL TENSION BASE/BLOCK QUESTION
I spoke with a Rep a few minutes ago and before I order about 50 30" Red Spiral Tension Rods. It appears some of my Tension blocks - which are screwed in from the factory from the 'outside' - have turned a quarter turn (from force). Can't remove right balancer to identify
I have a window (non-tilt, non-removable sash, aluminum) that the balancer installations look different on the left than on the right. spiral balance problem
I tried to repair the spiral balances for my windows. Those are non-tilt windows. I repaired a few windows using S400-30 30" series 400 Spiral Balance, but now I get stuck because some windows have different tips. Spiral lift and how to attach to window bottom
The spiral tube is 30" and 31" to the tip of the spiral. The tip looks like it may be red, the windows were installed on 2004. They are single pane non tilt and the mfg. code is GA-1. Based on what I can see it looks like our single hung window with your 17-052 #63 type of bottom sash clips. The spiral balances are not connected, dropped down in the track loose.
