I am looking to replace the broken coils. have the 10j stamped on my coil. Certainteed is on the pivot shoe. I noted in the Q&A section the following "you will need to use an S170-405 and S171-405 on each side to replace the originals since we do not carry 10-pound strength". If that is your rec ... The upper sash won't stay up. I know I need a pivot shoe but how do you know if the springs are also bad? The spring number is 405I have two of these old Certainteed windows that I'm trying to use as replacements for my garage and both top sash's won't stay up.Thank you, Susan

These are from my house at the beach- the salt air has done damage to all of my window springs. I am fairly handy and will probably do this job on my own. Looking for parts for our old windows - Owen Corning from 2001. The coil springs of several windows are breaking. The pivot shoe dimensions : 1 1/4 , 1 1/2 and 7/8. The number on the pivot shoe is 9. The number on the coil is 10.

Hi, looking to for a coil balance. The bottom part is 1 15/32" in height, 13/16" thick, 1 1/4" wide. Spring holder is 1 9/16" in height, 7/8" thick, and 1 1/4" wide. The coil is 3/4" wide.

Hi, I removed this coil balance from one side of my double-hung vinyl window. Both coils have broken. The cover shows CertainTeed. The window size is 32 1/2 x 25 1/2 inches double pane. Do you have the replacement part? Thanks Ron O

Hi Swisco, I need this replacement coil balance. It has a stamp of J10 on it. Also, the pivot shoe broke because glass was replaced and it was much heavier than normal due to it being fire rated glass. So I had hardy windows in orange county help me do the install. The spring 170-405 worked fine however the lance spring cover and the pivot shoe did not work because the spring cover has a long plastic tunnel for the screw and the old Lance covers do not have that so we used my old shoes and my old ...
