My 80 year old mother got locked outside her back door due to this faulty latch. The latch inside operating lever has little tension to remain in the up position. Wanting to change my sliding glass door to key lock assembly unless I'm doing something wrong I measured 4and 1/8 inches do I need to take the handle off to measure the holes I do have a Guardian door ??
