replacing spiral spring balance
Folks, I have a broken spring balance. (27", dia. 5/8", no color tip) Not sure which Swisco series replacement part I need. Balance itself is old, but works. The bracket is the broken piece. However the swisco replacement bracket doesn't seem to match the end of this balance. Ideas? Thanks, ... (cont.)

There are two of these that are in the window frame. The flat part attaches to the windows frame and the sprial is attached to the glass sliding window. Looking to find out what they are.

spiral balance for a non-tilt window
I want to find a spiral balance to replace the ones in the lower sashes of my non-tilt wood windows. The existing balances sit in a channel in the sides of the sash. 17-012 bracket, but connected differently
Hello. I recently replaced my spiral balances and brackets. In most cases the old brackets had rusted through. 1955 house with spiral balances
Is there any item available to replace these spiral balances? Trying to re-install them is a painful process. Many have broken covers, and if there is an alternate product available I would be interested. Perhaps something that fits against the existing sides and applies pressure to hold the window ... top bracket for spiral balances
i'm installing spiral balances, Series 500, for wooden non tilt windows. the double hung windows have never been fully installed with hardware.... I am purchasing the 17-012 bracket for the lower sashes. Do i use the same bracket for the top window sashes as well?

No place to mount balance shoe on aluminum window
Hello, Im doing a repair in a condominium with PGT aluminum windows. The shoe that clips on the lowert lip of the window rusts out but as it does it corrodes the spot the shoe is supposed to mount leaving no place to mount the new shoe. replacement spiral balance
I need to replace the spiral balances in 32" wide by 20" high by 1 1/4" thick wood window sashes. Each sash has two 27 1/2" by 7 1/2" glass panes. The house was built in 1963. unique balance system for old windows
The windows are from about the 1940s and they have tube balance system that I was told might have been called "unique balance". I'm not sure where to look for markings, but I can't find any.
