Picture shows Weather Shield sash balance part 40TGX needed.

I'm not the original owner of the house, but I'm a pretty handy guy. I'd like to replace these myself to save a few bucks. I have double hung windows. The pane is 28 pounds. The existing channel balance is 24" long and is hooked on an opening below a screw hole (see picture 4). The screw hole is 1" above the opening, so do I get a 24" long replacement, or do I get a 25". Thanks
