Hi, I have to lean over a counter to open/close the window. I can't open it unless I climb onto the counter to lift it and its still hard! It's in a bathroom and the channels are rusting so I can't see any stamp on it. It weighs 20 lbs. If I can get it up I can put a stick under it to keep it open, ... (cont.)

I believe the balances I need are 18" Caldwell series. Metal measures 18" long. The stamped numbers/ letters are 17-4 DI5 CMC 34 on the units. I have 3 vinyl windows 4 feet wide and none of them work properly, I'm guessing the balances are not strong enough because they won't stay open. I'm wonderin ... (cont.)

Hi, I am looking for a replacement for this part for the window. I haven't been able to find a cmc with a matching code.

I am returning the larger ones I purchased. I now found out that it is only 18". A neighbor where my house is took out the other one for me and found a marking on it. Do you have 18"? If not, I guess I could try the 19" and see if we can get them to work. Thanks.

Hello! The cord in our channel balance just broke the other day and I'm struggling to pinpoint which specific balance this is. It's a 1/2" (or 9/16") channel, 18" long, with the markings "17 4 AT Caldwell". The inside of the fixed part of the glass window itself has the markings "0315 305443.003 ... (cont.)

These are what came out of the sides of our bathroom window. The window was jammed and when forced open, they pretty much fell out on their own. Want to replace all my window ballast in my home but don't know the series. Windows are about 28 years old, Harcar windows. Stamped number on this window ballast says 2920? The metal length is 30" Thanks, Ken Removed another ballast that says 1720, the length is 18 inches
