26-234 Tilt Latch Actuator

This is a picture of an unbroken part, but many were broken when older vinyl windows,(think boat window vinyl or vinyl tablecloth) were torn off by Hurricane Ian. Shredded vinyl can be replaced but I can't find this part to replace the broken ones. I'm not sure what it is called so don't know how to ... (cont.)

The measurements of my tilt latch release match your product 26-234 with the exception of the distance from tip to tip of the "hooks" on the side view of the underside. My gap measurement is 3/16" -- same as yours. Each "hook" is 2/16" across (side view). So my total distance from tip to tip of t ... (cont.)

This is a tilt latch for a Alumax double hung window purchased in 1996. The picture on the left shows the top view which measures 1 3/4" Long X 5/8" Wide. The latches are on the bottom sash of double hung slider windows. The company that manufactured the windows was called "The Un-Touchables"

Can't find manufacturer label anyplace. Windows probably installed around 2000-2005 Need both left and right for 10 windows

I think I need the 26-234 tilt latch for window purchased in 1990 made by Comfort Guard. Do you think this is the right part? I will need quite a few and want to order only once. The measurements don't like exactly the same but are close- so I'd like to be sure. Thanks!

I purchased a tilt latch actuator #26-234. This appears to be the correct one but when I try to put it in the actuator spot it sits up about an 8th of an inch. Is there a trick to installing these.
