Hi, I'm looking for replacement spiral window balances. This is the first time I've dealt with this. I believe I have 5/8" balances but it looks like they measure 1/2". They are 22" long. Existing windows have the 17" Series 400 Spiral Balance. There is not a removable metal bracket on the bottom of the window. There appears to be metal bracket up in side the side frame of the window that could only be removed by taking the window sash out of the frame which appears to be impossi ... (cont.)

i need to adjust the balance on my kinco windows that were installed in 2005. i understand there is a tool available that i could insert into the balance to tighten. do you sell this tool? Michelle

Is the series 500 spiral balance correct for my window? Problems are end is white and should there be an plastic end or will it hook on the side as I was not able to take the window out to look at side.

You sell two different types of charging tools. Are they both for spiral balances used with tilt windows? Can either one be used for Patriot Window spiral balances?

Spiral balances need to be charge after installing them into a window. Charging simply means rotating the spiral part of the balance a couple of times to strengthen the pull of the balance. I am currently replacing spiral balances that keep breaking. They have a red tip, should I buy a stronger grade, Possibly blue tip, to stop them from breaking so easily?
