26-200 Balance Screw Plug

Can the small part at the end of the unit be replaced? Not sure how to remove the entire upper sash balance. Tried to find this type of balance online, unable to locate. Can a different type be used?

I have double-hung windows. The spring balance has a free spring block and tackle configuration. The spring is attached at the bottom of the window by a stud into the foot of the spring holder. Thanks for writing in. Block & Tackle rod balances have been discontinued; but we should be able to replace them with Channel Balances. Purchased S795-32 ,bottom plastic guide that fits in channel is 1.25"wide, I need a balancer that has a 1" plastic guide . The top string clip is bent to clip in top channel hole. Window is about 21 or 22 lbs. height of bottom section of window is 30." Need a replacement balance assembly (or two to avoid imbalance between sides of the window?). Window is about 18 years old, but otherwise in fine shape.
