I have the Acorn single hung aluminum window with spiral balance. Where and how does the sash attach to the pivot shoe? Your tutorial doesn't show this very well.

Piece is 1 1/4" wide. Channel is 1/2" deep. Entire piece is 5/8" thick. (The round part sticks up a bit more than the part that rides inside the channel. I don't know what brand the window is. I am not sure what this part is called, though it may be the pivot shoe. It holds the spiral balance rod at the bottom of the window track. The windows were installed in 1997 and most are still functioning well. I have about four that have a similar problem throughout the house.Thank you for your ... (cont.)
