Hello,I can not find the name of these windows. The spiral balances look like they are 1/2" thick.The pivot lock shoe(?) is broken on a couple of the windows.Some of the windows will not stay up.Thank you, Joe

Hi,The metal insert at the shoe where the window pivot pin sits is broken. I did not find any markings on the piece. The tip on the balance was red in color.The window in question is the upper sash of a tilt-in double hung window.I appreciate any guidance.Thank you,Bill

Hello, I am working on replacing some of my pivot shoes and am trying to understand if different shoes have different "weights" - in other words, are they are able to apply differing amount of locking force, or is that completely dependent on the width?

My tubes are inside a plastic case, and flexible vs rigid. The "spring" case is 28" long, and the tips appear yellow. My lower sash tilts, tops are stationary, and sashes weigh between 19-24 lbs. This shoe measures 2 and maybe a 16th" by 1 and 3/16 or 1/4" by 9/16-5/8" thick. Spiral tilt vinyl windows probably from the mid 1980's.... What are your recommendations for replacement part? Thank you! Herb M.
