The bottom sashes (the only sashes I'm working on as the upper sashes are painted shut and won't be used anyway) are 9.4 lbs. The tube is 28" long and the diameter is 5/8". Thanks so much!

Hello, I'm replacing my balances (series 400 with the cross piece, 30", red bushing) on my non-tilt aluminum windows. Unfortunately, a couple of the brackets (bracket #13 17-010) have rusted out and are no longer attached to the window. Would you please advise on how best to remove these brackets ... (cont.)

I removed the old balances which were broken, any hardware to anchor the spiral to the bottom of the window sash is not there, never was. It appears that it is up in the channel out of sight. Can you tell me how to remove the spiral balances in this window? It is easy to see how to detach the top of the spiral balance. (see picture of top spiral balance connection) But there are no "screwed on" brackets at the bottom of the window which hold the bottom of the spiral balance. (see picture ... (cont.)

This is what I know about the original parts.....they appear to be the 400 series with the 3/8"diameter, 26" long and the window itself weighs around 26 pounds.
