S900-29 29" Series 900 Spiral Balance

Have removed old balance and is 29" long (tube only) But the diameter is 1/2", not 3/8" or 5/8" (please see photo). Can I use a different size, and if so, which is best?

No color tips anywhere. Standard contractor grade windows.

It is 29 inches long with a white plastic covering. This came off a bedroom window and needs replacement. I also will need the adjustment tool. The diameter of the spiral balance is 3/8 inches

The upper window on the right in pic 2818 will not stay up and is completely disconnected from the balances on both sides. the lower window it is extremely difficult to insert the feet into spiral balance even using your instructions of pulling the window part way up. Hi there. The spiral balancers I'd like to replace have no color, but I know are 29" and 3/8" dia. Would you be able to determine the weight/color needed by the size of the bottom sash? It measures roughly 44"x29" and is double pane. Thank you for any advice
