The balance is 23'' long, with the stamp "22 3 FO Caldwell" on it. The "FO" is a bit unclear (see photo), might be something else.

Marked with 22 3 Caldwell JL. Metal length (not including plastic parts) 23". One end of plastic piece was broken. (Length of entire piece including plastic end pieces 24").

i need a new window balance. i want to make sure i get the correct one.

Our channel balance on our window is broken and is making it so we cannot close the window. I am not even able to get the window out because we cannot get the window closed enough to flip the clips on the sides to remove the balance from the window itself. Channel is 23" long. Pics of ends included. On the one I took out I couldn't read the number so I looked on another and the number was 225. Thank you for your help. Paul

The window was really hard to open. Then this part came out of the side. Is it something thats fixable? There is a number stamped on the outside of it

The balances have the following numbers stamped on their sides 2020Z (21 inch) or 2220Z (23 inch).They are both 1/2 inches wide and appear to have the 19-005 fitting on the top and the 15-004 fitting on the bottom. I have had these parts replaced by our condo handyman, but the springs are the only thing that is rusting. Are there any springs with stainless or heavy duty aluminum springs? I do not know exactly which channel balance I need. I would like a brand new complete unit for two windows. The windows are located in bedrooms, they are non-tilt, the current channel is 1/2 inch.
