Wanted to know if you can help me determine what balance I need. I believe it is a 9/16 but it does not have a color. Attached is a picture and it will also need the little bracket to attachéd it to none tilt window.

Hi, I'm trying to replace these sash balances that have no markings to indicate manufacturer. They may have been original to the windows. Double hung wood sash. Non tilt window. I don't know the weight of the sash. The plastic outer tube crumbled while dissembling the window. I took the measurement from the top to where I think the bottom is, but you can see the spring extended from the bottom of the balance. I assume I'm looking for ... (cont.)

I need to replace the spiral balance springs in some old windows. They are 25" long. Picture 1 attaches to the frame and picture 3 attaches to the window. If you don't carry the exact spring, can I use a more "modern" one as long as I replace both?

We have a summer cottage and one of the windows is very difficult to open and close - seems like there is too much tension on the spiral balance. 5/8 spiral balance 22" the support is old and brittle. Not sure of the weight of the sash. Looking to buy everything new already connected. There is a small flat aluminium piece that connects the balance and the support. That's the part keeps breaking

Hello,Based on your pictures, it looks like you'll need our S500 balance if your old one has a 5/8" diameter and the 17-012 bracket. You'll need to choose the correct length of your balance and tip color option based on the weight of your bottom sash. Thank you!
