I am looking for replacement Tube Balances for my white vinyl clad double hug tilt windows. The tube balances in my window are 26 inches long, they just over a half inch 1/2 in diameter and narrower than five eights 5/8. I have windows they weigh 19.6 lbs. the existing spiral balances are 5/8 in diameter and 26" long. They have a red tip. Should I replace them with the blue tip spiral balance?

Hi, Please assist with which parts I need for tilt windows. The upper spiral balance is 26" (from metal tube edge to edge) and the lower sash is 29". I believe the width is a bit more than 1/2" wide with a red tip. That would be Series 600? The tubes and parts are fairly covered with grease ... (cont.)

My double hung tilt Vinyl windows were installed in 1983 and over the years oil has leaked out of the spiral balances and no longer hold the bottom sash open. The spiral balances are the 26" x 5/8" red tips Can you tell me what you think has happened and what I can do to remedy this? ... (cont.)

You will have to charge the balances, I usually give the spiral three to four turns to start. I then take precaution by trying the window sash to see if it will operate properly. Then I adjust it accordingly, adding more turns as needed.

My existing tilt windows are using this balancer (S600-26) in terms of measurements. None of my windows stay up when opened so I needed to insert a block under the window to stop it from falling. I tried to re-adjust the existing balancers, none of them has any tensions. I wonder if the new ones ... (cont.)
